A large sized original purple and red abstract painting.
As far as drama and impact go then this piece of abstract art is right on the money. Not only are the colours rich and magnificent but the shapes and forms are equally as memorable. With a careful eye for compositional balance this original artwork is light yet powerful and charismatic yet grounded; a truly ying and yang piece if ever I saw one.
Keeping a structure is vital if you’re going to paint in a very organic way. I wanted to create a very loose and flowing painting whilst still keeping a repeating structure, together with rules that govern the top and bottom. What you end up with is some extraordinary details all wrapped up in rich, indulgent colours set off perfectly against a clean crisp background.
I reckon that this will not only look amazing on a plain white wall but also against a stone grey, maroon or cerise colour too.
What I love about this kind of painting is the ability to translate a feeling of chaos but still keep it controlled. I think that if I had chosen a stronger or more harsh range of colours I would have lost some of the sensuality of the painting. It’s certainly a Marmite piece I think; you’ll either love it or hate it. One thing is for sure though – you can’t ignore it…
This painting measures 275cm x 130cm x 44mm deep and is sold ready to hang and in either orientation.
