A large size, original modern art painting.
Yes it’s big, yes it’s full of amazing details and yes, it’s every bit as mad as you think but with a subtle twist. The longer you stare at this modern art marvel the more you realise it’s actually not insane; quite the opposite in fact.
Intricate use of small layers of paint have been interlocked with large ones to produce two opposing sides linked by the orange and black arch. There are elements of water, fire and earth in here which gives the whole piece a feeling of grounded maturity.
A base of purple and red is carefully balanced with darker fusions of black hues to give just enough depth without becoming oppressive or heavy.
This painting will own any space it hangs in but will also fuse with it’s surroundings so that it feels like it’s become an integral and organic part of the space – partly down to the colour palette and partly due to my genius with industrial syringes and an over-active imagination.
This painting pretty much defies everything. It’s good to swim against the tide from time to time.
More than 12 litres of paint was used to create this; when dry he was stretched around a seasoned timber frame with all staples on the reverse. The result is a hand-made piece of art that stretches all the way around the edges. Signed on the reverse by me. The last process was to use a stretching glue on the reverse to chemically tighten the weave density in the canvas so that the painting is as tight as it can be.
