Part of the power of art is to translate something personal to those who look at it. It’s something we should never underestimate.
It will always be different and it will always change, but the fundamentals of context and meaning should remain constant. I wanted this particular painting to have a very personal connection; by that I mean an expression of the deep stuff that makes us human.
It’s about the things that bind us all together. It’s what happens when you have something inside that you can’t describe with words but you feel it. Whatever it may be, and whoever that is for, it is yours.
The painting is light and airy and will never be anything other than a harmonious and uplifting swell of contentment. Amen to that.
The background of blended blue tones also features carefully woven cream and apricot hints whilst the main shape that rises through the centre of the painting is a beautifully balanced series of flows and forms.
Colours were thoughtfully put together with more than a passing glance to some of the dramatic sunsets I used to see as a kid. You can still see them today but I don’t tend to see them as frequently as I’d used to.
Not wishing to bang on about quality again but this is a beautifully crafted painting. There’s a myriad of small details featuring some insanely delicate brush movements and a sequence of very subtle colour blends surrounding the seductive pinky-red colour that winds its way through the centre.
From the quality of the frame it is stapled around to the finishing of the corners this is a real joy from every angle. If you’ve got a small alcove somewhere and are able to pop up a single spotlight this could very well become one of those areas in your home that transforms itself into one of your favourite ones.
