Gold is one of those paint colours that I simply cannot live without. The particular version I use is a very expensive one and contains a very small metallic flake. This has a magical quality that literally lights up as light moves around it. The gold features on many of my paintings but not quite as much as in this one! And that’s no bad thing really as it radiates and sparkles from every point on the canvas.

The painting features a spinning, radial technique that throws the paint off at speed. The nature of my enamel paints means I get some truly mesmerizing effects when things begin to settle and cure. In the close up images you can see some of the details that are immortalized on the canvas. There are some pretty incredible things happening here including cells and rivers and valleys.
