Though I rarely, if ever, use the word ‘master’ in any of the comments on my paintings I must seek to break with that tradition and use it in the context of how the paint has been layered in Rollin’ Down The Line.
For it is definitely a masterclass in how to put down paint, layer after layer, to create this series of breathtaking effects that have, so far, eluded me. So it’s a significant achievement (for my own self-worth) even if that’s not immediately apparent to you.
Having got this series of layering sorted it’s then a question of how much paint, what colour and in what order – a series of decisions that will always give rise to multiple answers. But in the end you go with how you feel and this is what comes out. And I have to say that I’m thrilled with it.
The balance is perfect, the purple is in just the right amount to offer a little temperance to the red and the whole thing features some truly stunning radial movements.
This painting is shipped ready to hang and, although I prefer it hung like a diamond you can hang it anyway you like. Worldwide shipping is available – costs are calculated at the checkout before you decide to buy. Any problems, drop me a mail.
