This is an original painting created with one of my favourite colours – Piaggio Verde. It’s a specific green/turquoise that was created by the Piaggio company in Italy that became synonymous with its scooters during the late 50’s and 60’s. I have used it for a decade and get excited every time I open a can.

In this painting I have liberally applied it to the background and fused in a little metallic silver in one corner. On to this I put blue, gold and white in a gentle circular motion and finished it off with some gentle black swirls.

The result of this is a colour palette that is both stirring and relaxing yet dramatic and easy to get on with. That’s how good the Verde green is – it simultaneously conveys multiple feelings. Awesome! The details are incredible, the gold shines like a sky full of stars and the colours feel deep and abundant.
