Twelve Drummers Drumming

The twelfth day of Christmas was painted during one of four live streaming events broadcast in November and December of 2020. This particular painting was created in the third one along with two others. You can see its creation on my 12 Days of Christmas live painting stream. It is a small square abstract painting featuring yellow, blue and black paints and was created using my spin table machine. 

By the time I got to the twelfth painting in this series I wasn’t sticking too rigidly to the brief of abstracting elements from the specific day of Christmas I was creating. It’s funny how you just go with the flow sometimes; that, to me, is where the great art lies. When you can give in to whatever it is that drives you to do certain things.

This last day of the series is exactly that – a free and unconstrained leap into the joy of painting.

The painting measures 80cm x 80cm.

Finishing

The art work was hand stretched around a seasoned timber frame so that the painting goes all the way round the edges. It has a wonderful texture thanks to the way the paint layers are built up and it comes with full certification.
