Serenity is small original painting created with my trusty enamel paints. This is an absolute peach of a colour palette, combining rich telemagenta (pink to you and me), Boston metallic blue, metallic gold, black and a little metallic purple. These five colours are just so good together that there’s no need for white or anything else.

After painting the background I applied colours to the top using a wide dustpan. This means that the paint can flow out of it at any angle and speed depending on what effect I am going for. It’s actually a lot more difficult than it sounds because it can go spectacularly wrong very quickly if you get some of the variables wrong.

Fortunately though, I got this one spot on and that result of this is a rich, velvety abstract that sucks you in to all its curves, radiuses and rivers. Just sublime…
