No Boundaries is a stylish asbtract painting that only uses a few colours to create wild shapes and stunning details. Its relatively restrictive palette of colour means it relies on its shapes and forms to convey the feeling of movement and impact. And it does this in spectacular fashion!
Let’s look at the colour choices first. A base of pure white gives way to three shades of blue plus a dash of purple and mirror chrome. The scheme of colour is a bright and fresh one but never feels cold or harsh. That may be down to the elimination of black; I rely on a colour called Boston Metallic blue to add weight and gravity instead.
There is a French Blue and my own colour called Swarez blue which contains a tiny metallic flake – so imagine how gorgeous this will look on a sunny day or when a spotlight shines upon it.
For an anstract that features fewer colours the main draw will always be the way in which it moves. This interplay between colour and movment is what creates the dynamic in a good abstract painting. So if the colour doesn’t speak to you then the way it is placed will = that’s the principle.
In this particular piece the entire backbone of its existence is how it moves. A closer look will reveal it’s not just made up of randmoized lines. It has rivers and valleys, it has twists and turns and it not only carries a depth of colour but also subtelty too.
It reminds me of how I imagine and electrical current to look like if I was able to see it – darting one way then the other and bristling with all that energy potential. Sweet!
You can see in the photos I have suggested hanging it in a dining space (twice actually!) so this kind of wall would be brilliant with this in it. Equally too would be behind a sofa as it has the right kind of rectangular shape to suit most standrad height walls.
And you can flip it and hang it the opposite way round too if that sits you better.
Drop me a line and I will get back to you as soon as is humanly possible!
