A long/tall elemental modern art painting.
I’m really excited by the latest series of paintings to fall from my hands.
There’s a very deep connection with the base elements in them – things that remind me of the beginnings of life. Maybe I should not class this as ‘modern’ but call it ‘ancient’ instead?
Uncluttered, inherently beautiful and free from the bullshit of confusing messages and statements. Get back to the real nature of things; bring a little inspiration from the world around you and look what happens. I cannot think of a time when I have felt so good about my work.
I’m really getting into a groove recently with this kind of style. I’m learning new things about my materials and trying new techniques.
What I am creating is taking me further and further away from constraints and into new places of artistic freedom. Man I love this.
There are a number of standout components in this painting for me; one of which is the blurring in some of the light teal/aqua. By developing a new technique I have essentially made the blend lines blurred – like you were looking through an out-of-focus camera.
A nightmare to get right but totally worth the effort. It makes you want to re-focus your eyes when you look at it – very cool….
