A long/tall original abstract art painting.
Like with a recently sold original abstract called Carbon 12 this new type of fluid painting is a real departure in style for me. I am abandoning many of my usual application techniques for a new range of methods allowing me to do things I haven’t done before.
With very bold shapes and a highly selective palette of soft and strong colours I am creating new pieces that have distinctive earthy undertones; qualities that connect with the very basic things of life.
Nothing heavy and nothing complicated. Just some very intricate and delicate movements lit up and immortalized on canvas; connecting us with the very things that make us who we are.
One of the additional technical achievements in this painting is the use of an additive that allows me to stretch the very hardened enamels round a 90 degree bend (around the frame) and avoid cracking and crazing (like usual). It’s taken a long time to perfect but I have finally achieved the finish for the edges that I have always wanted.
