Creating the art
Four spaces, four dimensions, four colour schemes. Overcoming logistical and weather related stresses rewarded us with one of the most satisfying installation days I can remember. After flying out to see meet my clients in New York I came back and began painting multiple variations for each space.
Over the course of the year-long project we talked about many things until four were chosen for shipping; they got rolled, the frames got made and everything was put into a wooden crate.
Preparing and transporting
One bespoke wooden crate containing 33 pieces of timber, 32 corner wedges, staplers, staples, hammers, tools and of course the paintings.
I organised a fully managed shipping service – delivered during snow storms, on time and on budget, 4000 miles away from home.
Adrian and myself took 26 separate journeys over four days to get to and from the clients residence to make sure everything was carried out correctly.
Installation
8 hours, 5 canvases, 831 staples. Assembled, stretched and hung on site.
