The Aldebaran project
It’s not every day I get the opportunity to create such a huge centerpiece for such a spectacular and unique home but on this occasion I did, and it shows just what you can do with a big space and a big idea

When a client approached me to create a centerpiece for his spectacular and unique home I jumped at the chance. It’s not every day I get the opportunity to do something on this scale; indeed all the numbers surrounding this project are big too – just like the paintings themselves.
What this does though is demonstrate my ability to work on a very big scale – something you may want to bear in mind if you have a huge wall space to fill.
What was blatantly evident was that this installation would be unlike any other I have ever done; requiring me to develop new techniques, work with new materials and paint longer and harder than I have ever done before. As a boundary pusher, this is up there. As a triptych it was expensive but as an experience, it was priceless.
Sure, this is not an everyday commission but what it does highlight is that I can tackle almost anything and deliver something so good and so on the money that you really don’t need to think about going anywhere else, no matter how big or small you want a painting to be.
Every aspect of this project was tailored exactly to the clients’ needs. From the individual sized canvases to the bespoke hanging brackets, from the concept of an explosion to the materials used. I had to rent a special unit to paint them in as I needed somewhere a little bigger than the one I had at the time and spent many hours in there mixing and applying – mostly during the cold months of November and December.
Look out for Aldebaran on Episodes 2, 6 and 10 of ‘The Feed’ on Amazon Prime – filmed inside my client’s home and showing my painting off beautifully!
The hanging brackets were custom fabricated and pre-installed before the day. It took four people three hours to get the paintings up, level and spaced.
If you have a space in your home that needs filling with magic but you just can’t find a way forward then drop me a mail and lets talk. That’s what my client did and 10 weeks later his home was transformed. Don’t worry about size either, you can have what you want.
Big art is my specialty. If you’re serious about a commission on this scale then this piece is available to view in the UK by private arrangement. The house isn’t bad either! I’m lying – the client’s house is staggering.
If you like my work but have something specific in mind then I will paint for you no matter where you live. It’s a lot of fun and there’s NO FINANCIAL commitment up front.
