The commercial brief
Part of the brief was to create art that not only complimented the high level of quality in the lobby but to also stand on its own merit and promote the feeling of aspirational movement and emotional reassurance.
The largest of these measures 4 metres long and hangs on the main wall as you walk in. The lobby has been beautifully appointed with a range of quality furniture and finishes so enhancing that feeling was crucial, as was the choice of colours.
Deep red and gold were selected to underline the lustre of the wood finishes whilst purple was featured in all three to compliment a small selection of soft furnishings.
Rich and opulent yet vibrant and restful; emotive combinations that have to exist at the same time.
Use of shapes and meticulous crafting of paint shades, layering and volumes of colour have shaped these three paintings into very individual pieces yet they all work with each other and harmonize the spaces in which they hang.
